He came, he saw and he conquered, but not for long. There are umpteen articles being written in the press, several polls on websites, and a lot of gossip among producers, challenging Hrithik's ability to carry a film on his shoulders. Will he make a film hit ? Does he guarantee a bumper opening ? Do his pelvic thrusts make the audience crazy ? Yes, he can carry a film on his shoulders, and his presence does ensure a super opening at least in the metros, but he is no magician with a midas touch to make every film turn into a 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai'!

Everyone knows the rage that Hrithik created post KNPH, he became a superstar that Indian movies hadn't seen in quite a few years. All of a sudden, the Khan trio sensed that there was danger, and that they had stiff competition now. However, after a superb start, what followed was not that encouraging for Hrithik's superstar status. There were a string of flops like 'Mission Kashmir', 'Fiza', 'Yaadein', and now the latest turkey, 'Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage'. Yes, all these movies had Hrithik, but then they also had a bad script, a bad director, some were signed before he signed KNPH.

Hrithik is the star of the week inspite the failure of 'Aap Mujhe..'. He is a star for sure, his presence still makes his fans run to the theatre to watch his movies. He has a solid screen presence, and yes he in the best dancer that we have, and he can act well too. If you look at the movies that did not work for him, then you realise that inspite of the films treatment, Hrithik did pull of a good show, he stuck to the script, and did what the director asked him to. Sometimes he was asked to shamelessly endorse a product in a film, while others made him do tandaav dance just to show his bulging biceps, yet he prevailed.

Hrithik cannot be written off so soon. Give the man some more time, he has a lot at stake in his next release, 'Na Tum Jaano Na Hum'. If it clicks then he will be back in the spotlight, if it doesn't then he could be in serious trouble. Whatever happens, his fans will surely stand by him, and his performance, dance, will always be appreciated. He has shared his success with his co-stars, while taken the blame for the failure on his head. K3G was basically a Shahrukh-Kajol film, yet his sensitive portrayal of a brother in search of re-uniting his family won his nominations last year. He has some great films on his hands, 'Koi Mil Gaya' with his dad Rakesh Roshan, 'Mein Hoon Prem Diwani' with the Barjatyas, and is rumored to be cast in Karan Johar's new film.
