Grand-daughter of the legendary Suchitra Sen and daughter of the voluptuous Bengali siren, Moon Moon Sen, the petite but sexy Riya, 24, began her career as a model and moved on to scale the rungs of success.

She bagged the best music videos and commercials and became the cynosure of every virile eye! A regular on the city's social circuit, Riya's first commercial Hindi film release was to be Kailash Surendranath's 'Love You Hameshaa' opposite Akshaye Khanna and Sonali Bendre. The film, sadly, did not see the light of the day.

In a short career spanning five years, Riya has been a celebrated 'hottie', featuring on glossy covers and Page Threes. Her film career did not take off like her modelling career, primarily because she got branded as more of an 'oomph value' girl. She debuted in N.Chandra's 'Style', which worked, and also in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Jhankaar Beats' (opposite newcomer Shayan Munshi), which was a hit. Her other release last year was Harry Baweja's 'Qayamat' (Ajay Devgan-Neha Dhupia) in which she had a brief but sexy bit opposite newcomer Aashish Chaudhary. 'Qayamat' fared well too. Earlier this year, she was seen in Sanjay Gupta's 'Plan' opposite Bikram Saluja.

In addition to these, she has featured in a host of heavyweight Bengali films. Her next release is Mahendra Dhariwal's 'Bachelor', in which she co-stars with her sister Raima ('Chokher Bali', 'God Mother') for the first time. She has received a host of other offers opposite a volley of male youngsters who will be debuting soon.

On the personal front, Riya has always been popular with the men...the official ones being Akshaye Khanna and John Abraham. As of now, she's single...or so she claims!
