Born to an Indian father (Pratap Sharma, a well-known voiceover artiste) and an English mother (Sue), Tara is a bright south-Mumbai girl who fared well for herself as a model. Her innocent and petal-soft face won her some of the most heavyduty ad campaigns, and gradually, she became a model to reckon with.
Tara, who is stationed in London, also undertook theatre on a large scale in the UK. Till date, she shuttles between Mumbai and London on acting and modelling assignments. Though she had been getting film offers for long, she finally agreed to take the plunge when Anupam Kher offered her 'Om, Jai, Jagadish' opposite Abhishek Bachchan. "It wasn't a meaty role but I took it up for the set-up and enormity of the project. Besides Anupam ji is wonderful to work with."

Her next release was for Mukesh Bhatt - 'Saaya' (a remake of 'Dragonfly') opposite John Abraham. The movie did not do well but Tara wasn't criticised.
Tara's next release will be Indra Kumar's multi-starrer 'Masti', in which her co-stars include Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Ajay Devgan, Genelia D'Souza, Lara Dutta and Amrita Rao. She is also playing an important role in Madhur Bhandarkar's forthcoming 'Page 3' starring Konkona Sen Sharma. And there's also a crossover film called 'Khosla Ka Ghosla' with Boman Irani of 'Munnabhai MBBS' fame.
Tara is one of Mumbai's well-known models, anchors, actresses and socialites, and is currently seeing her old school friend and actor, Akshaye Khanna.
