From her brazen debut to becoming the most wanted heroine on the block, Priyanka Chopra in a short time has been through a roller coaster ride to the A-list bracket and how! Her latest poised act in 'Bluff Master' opposite Abhishek Bachchan has got everyone excited:
After 'Barsaat', your next release is 'Bluff Master' on December 16th. Tell us something about it.
'Bluff Master' is a today's film and a completely fun film. It's a film with universal appeal. It's about a con man (played by Abhishek Bachchan), his life and relationships. My character, Simi Ahuja, provides the calming factor in his life; she makes him want to become a better man and return to doing the right things in life. More than the character, I felt like doing the film because of Rohan Sippy's refreshing approach to the subject. And truly, I've never done film like this. It's been a great experience shooting for the film especially with Abhishek around. Abhishek, Rohan and Riteish (Deshmukh) were a riot on the sets; they were like the Madness Inc. with Abhishek as the President and Rohan and Riteish as his sidekicks.

And Nana Patekar? What was the experience like working with him?
It was interesting and unnerving. But he was sweet and tried to make me as comfortable as possible while shooting with him. I was always on my toes when I was facing an actor like him… after all it was Nana Patekar and I didn't want to be caught on the wrong foot. We just had four days work together.
There is much excitement because Abhishek and you are working together for the first time in 'Bluff Master'.
(Smiles) Yes! He's such a gentleman and absolutely fun to work with! His growth as an actor over the years is visible and you can't doubt his enormous popularity!
Was it easy to step into a role that was first offered to Aishwarya Rai?
To be honest, I had no idea of the role having been offered to her first. I came to know of it on the first day of the film. All I know is that I stepped into the film only because a full month's shoot for 'Krrish' was called off and postponed to January. When Rohan narrated the story, I liked it and immediately signed the film as I had those dates free.

What was it like working with Rohan?
Rohan is a fun guy. And he's got such a straight face that you don't when he's fooling and when he's being serious. But he's made such a refreshing film in 'Bluff Master' – the take of the film is interesting, unique and colourful. Besides, the music too has not been treated like a regular Hindi film. It is more in the tradition of OST (original soundtracks) in English films. The music has an array of songs – from within the country as well as the international scene like Trickbaby, Arash and Anila Mirza. BM is different and yet has all the masala and masti of a Hindi film. And you must not miss Abhishek in the neo version of the Mahmood hit song, 'Sabse bada rupaiya'; it's a fabulous video, as are all the rest. The music is a hit!
What are your other films?
Besides 'Bluff Master', there's Rakesh Roshan's 'Krrish', Rumi Jafferi's 'God Tussi Great Ho', and Farhan Akhtar's 'Don', which will go on the floors in February.
What about the remake of 'Sahib, Bibi Aur Ghulam'?
I have approved the script of SBAG, but not yet signed it. We are still waiting for the casting and the dates to be finalized.
How does it feel to be bracketed among the top five heroines in India?
I feel weird about answering this. I've never seen it that way. I just do films that I like. It's flattering if someone feels that belong among the top five, but that's it. I don't want to begin believing these declarations that are based on Friday performance at the box office. It's temporary.
