Sunny's production company 'Vijayata Films' is launching another Deol in the upcoming 'Socha Na Tha'. Here is an excerpt from a conversation with Sunny regarding this new venture: What is your true prediction of Abhay Deol as an actor in the future? Abhay is a good actor. He will do well; I see a very bright future for him. I hope he selects good films, as it is important for an actor to choose the right kind of films. What was your reaction after watching Socha Na tha? I loved the film. I had heard the story from Imtiaz and knew all about it and when I did see it, I really liked it. What do you think are the plus points of the films? The plus point of Socha Na Tha is that it is a very fresh film. It has fresh scenes. After watching the film you’ll realize that you don’t have to imitate other films or scenes to make a good film. You will have to see the film to believe and understand what I am talking about. Does Socha Na Tha remind you of any other film? No, it doesn’t. What do you think of Abhay Deol’s performance in the film? I never knew he would do so well. I was pleasantly surprised by his performance. Believe me, he is a good actor and has done a very good job in Socha Na Tha. Socha Na Tha does not have any item number or action scenes. Do you think it will work? Item numbers work for a different kind of entertainment, some films require it and so they have it. As far as Socha Na Tha is concerned it doesn’t require any item numbers and so it does not have any. Similar is the case with action. The subject of the film decides whether you need action scenes in the film or not. The subject of Socha Na Tha does not require any action or fight sequences and so it does not have any. People might find it surprising to see a DEOL with no action scenes but still it is a lovely film and I think it’ll definitely work. What do you think of Ayesha Takia in the film? Ayesha is good. Unfortunately, this is not her first release though it is the first film that she was selected for. Socha Na Tha would have introduced not only Abhay Deol but also Ayesha Takia. Ayesha is a good actress and has good screen personality. What has been your involvement in the making of Socha Na Tha? I have been involved since the beginning.
