Malamaal Weekly Sequel is not Happening?

It was long time back when makers of runaway hit Malamaal Weekly had announced their plans of making its sequel with the same star cast. But no news about the same was heard afterwards. According to our sources Percept Picture Company has few hurdles to cross before they can start the film.
First, the director of the original film Priyadarshan refused to direct its sequel and hence PPC assigned the directorial reins to Rajeev Kumar. After this, Paresh Rawal refused to be part of the film unless he is paid his market price, which according to our sources is way beyond the film's budget. It is also heard that Ritesh Deshmukh is also not much excited to do the film as he has already cut down on his assignments.
