Rituparna's Marital Rape Trauma

National award-winning actor Rituparna Sengupta loves to get into her character. Recently, when she shot for Mittal Versus Mittal directed by Karan Razdan, she shot the marital rape sequences with such conviction that she not only burst into cold sweat, but shook for days after that.
"It was terrifying admits Rituparna. "I kept seeing the sequence for days in my sleep and would wake up in cold sweat."
Karan Razdan, in an exclusive chat from Cape Town where is shooting for his next film, admits it was not easy to get her to do a differential shot post the traumatic ones.
"Rituparna is a director's actor and the scenes were hair-raising. She used to keep experiencing the feel of the scene much post the shoot. And as a director, I took her dedication and ability to get into the character to my advantage."
