'Saawariya' to be screened at the MIAAC Film Festival

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much awaited 'Saawariya' has been chosen as the opening film for the MIAAC (Mahindra Indo-American Arts Council) Film Festival to be held in New York, USA from November 7-11, 2007. 'Saawariya' is the first Bollywood production from a Hollywood studio.
The festival's closing film will be 'The Last Lear' by Rituparno Ghosh, which has Amitabh Bachchan in the lead. The festival will conclude with six awards being presented for best film, best director, best actor, best actress, best documentary and best short film.
