Update on 'Eklavya' controversy

The Honorable High Court bench of the learned Chief Justice Swatantra Veer Kumar and Justice D Y Chandrachud has heard the matter yesterday (29-09-2007) in the matter of selection of 'Eklavya – The Royal Guard' to represent India at the ensuing 80th Annual Academy Awards. The said selection was based on entries received by the Film Federation of India.
Accordingly, the Honorable High Court was informed that based upon the said selection and communication from the Film Federation of India, in conformity with the guidelines of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, USA, the entry was sent on 26-09-2007 and the print of 'Eklavya – The Royal Guard' on 28-09-2007 prior to the receipt of the notice of the hearing of the matter, so as to reach the Academy within the stipulated time limit of 01-10-2007.
The Honorable High Court has not issued any restraining order/stay or injunction in the matter. Now the matter will be heard on 10-10-2007.
