In the wake of the unparalleled success of the film, there has been an unprecedented rush to acquire its dubbing and remake rights in various languages at fancy prices with a couple of makers from Bollywood also trying to acquire the same.

It may be recalled here that Rajnikanth's last film 'Chandramukhi' is being remade in Hindi as 'Bhoolbhulaiya' with Akshay Kumar in the lead. It is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-Series.
