Indian actors Om Puri and Naseeruddin Shah were honoured on Sunday at the Nehru Centre, in the cultural wing of the High Commission of India in London.

Speaking on the occasion, Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri expressed the thoughts that the word "Bollywood", coined initially by the Western media to refer to Hindi cinema, is derogatory and humiliating. The two actors spoke their minds about the widely used word during the function to honour them before a packed audience on the theme 'Life and Times in Indian Cinema'.

Both actors attacked the Western media for calling them "Bollywood actors". They said the Indian film industry was not happy with the word "Bollywood" and were disgusted at its usage in the media.

The event was presided over by noted film director Jagmohan Mundhra.
