Chilling out in one of the most expensive spas of the world - Chiva-Som International Health Resort run by European staff, Riya Sen is on a family holiday in Thailand with her parents and sister Raima.
While her parents have already been there for a month and a half, Riya and Raima have only been there for the past ten days but intend to stay put for a good week more.
A destressing detox programme, water therapy, yoga, personal gym, water aerobics, Pilates, Thai boxing, hair, face and body treatments, Thai Chi, adventure sports, fir call, Thai cooking classes and dance classes ... are just "some" of the things on Riya's agenda.
"The best part is the awesome food. Salman, red snapper, sea bass, chocolate mousse sorbets - I just love the food here," says Riya.
Chiva-Som is situated at a three-hour drive from Bangkok airport. Moon Moon Sen first learned of this place through some friends.
Riya further offers, "Whether it is pampering or weight loss, stress reduction or relaxation, every facet is catered. This health resort is one of a kind and is far more superior to hotels here with spa or health facilities. It has yoga, aqua aerobics, cardio combo circuit and many other classes taught by experts. The resort's aim is healing by water, which is everywhere - saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzis, cool plunge pools, waterfalls and Asia's most up-market flotation tank. The food is the healthiest ever. The total effect is that the body gets cleansed from inside and outside."
