Anuj Sawhney, the likable hero who beat the other two contenders to walk away with the heroine in his debut Nayee Padosan is now all set to set the box office on fire. He will soon be seen on the big screen with Sushmita Sen and Mithun Chakravorty in Kalpana Lajmi's Chingari. Originally titled 'The Postman' and 'The Prostitute', the film has Anuj playing the role of a simple but an educated and progressive postman, Chandan Mishra, who comes to work in this village which has a priest called Bhuvan Panda who has his own set of chauvinistic rules. He has double standards because of which the people in the village especially the women and the girls who work there as prostitutes have to face a lot of injustice and that's when Chandan lights off a Chingari in their lives. It's kind of a crusade he begins against Panda. Being a professional, Anuj has prepared a lot to play this character. Our sources confirmed that he kept asking and improvising with Kalpana Lajmi about his character and the way he should walk, speak etc.
Expectedly, Anuj who's also done films like Fun2ssh and last year's Naina in which he played a psychiatrist opposite Urmila Matondkar, Chingari is his big film in every sense of the word.
Coming up next is Deepak Tijori's Tom Dick Harry in which he plays blind to the other two deaf and mute guys who all are in love with the same girl. He is also in talks with makers for two big films. Meanwhile, it's Chingari which Anuj Sawhney is eating, drinking, breathing these days and going by the sincerity he exudes in his characters, rest assured, the film will be a sure fire blast at the box office.
