Cold response to 'The Rising' in India

Despite all the pre-release attempts to prop up 'The Rising' as the biggest and most acclaimed film of the year, the audience in India has decided not to echo these sentiments. Not only have the reviews in the media been mediocre, the word-of-mouth on the film is tepid as well.
In Central India, Delhi-UP and Gujarat, collections have started dropping. In suburban Mumbai multiplexes tickets are available in current booking already. Our prediction is that 'The Rising' will not be a flop thanks to the grand opening but it won't set the box office on fire either. For its price and stature, it'll be a "small disappointing hit".
