'Provoked' Story Copied From Raju Kher's Film?

Originality not being Bollywood's strongest point is a known fact. Here's yet another instance where two films with remarkably similar storylines have been announced.
It is rumoured that Jag Mundhra has picked up Raju Kher's 'Wow' starring Sakshi Shivanand, Shilpa Shivanand, Anupam Kher and Pinky Hirwani for his forthcoming Ash starrer 'Provoked'. Even the characters of the lead female protagonists are very similar.
Mundhra denies the rumour, saying that his film is based on a true story about a Sikh woman Kiranjit Ahluwalia from the UK who set her husband Deepak on fire in 1989 after suffering his brutality for ten years.
