The question - How can business move the world?
Kevin Roberts, Worldwide CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, author of the book 'Lovemarks' and creator of the web site, which bears the same name, tells the evolutionary story of products, trademarks and brands. Both the book and the site provoke readers to think about mystery, sensuality, and intimacy as brand-building tools. The inspiration behind the idea shows that by building respect and inspiring love, business can move the world.
"Lovemarks inspire loyalty beyond reason. They deliver beyond your expectations of great performance. Lovemarks reach your heart as well as your mind, creating an intimate, emotional connection that you just can’t live without. Ever. A Lovemark shows Commitment, Empathy and Passion," explains Mr. Roberts.
Lovemarks has been growing by leaps and bounds, not only in the original countries, where it began, but globally, as it gains notoriety and appeal. India recently launched Lovemarks in grand style at the Taj Landsend in Mumbai. And who better to help with the festivities than Bollywood's very own, well-loved King of Hearts, Shah Rukh Khan. Others present at this celebration of love were singer Shubha Mudgal, dancer Geeta Chandran, filmmaker Karan Johar and poet Javed Akhtar.
Lovemarks - A future beyond brands - People Section features Shah Rukh Khan, as he was nominated by one of his 3.6 billion fans worldwide, who lives in the US. Why is he her lovemark? As she puts it, "Shah Rukh Khan brings happiness, laughter, tears, and joy, into the lives of so many. He has been there for me through his films. There were times when I ventured into the shelter of my dark room and for three or more hours escaped the pains of my world and traveled into his. His persona emits love, and love is the voice, which the heart understands. He is a beautiful and true human being, who shares so much of himself, and does it unselfishly, tirelessly giving 500% in everything he does, all for his family, friends, and fans."
A touching tribute, which agrees with how Shah Rukh himself feels, when he says, "Acting is all about magnanimity. It’s about giving, not taking. I have only one funda in life: that you can’t win an audience unless you give. And it has worked for me." And that it surely has!
