Producer-director S.M. Iqbal has filed a complaint with the AMPTPP against Akshay Kumar demanding the actor to compensate him for losses to the tune of Rs. 5 crore on account of unprofessional behaviour.
Akshay had been signed by Iqbal in 1993 opposite Sridevi for 'Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin'. The film has been in the making ever since and refuses to see the light of the day. After eleven years when the producer tried releasing it, Akshay is reported to have told the media that the film was not complete and that he had not dubbed for it either. Consequently, the distributors of the film backed out having developed cold feet.
Iqbal has questioned Akshay's irresponsible media statement.
