Described as an emotional human drama, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna focuses on the romance between Dev Saran (Shahrukh Khan) and Maya Talwar (Rani Mukherjee). The kahani twist though (uncommon of Karan Johar films) is that both Dev and Maya are already married to different people, Dev to Rhea (Priety Zinta) and Maya to Rishi (Abhishek Bachchan).
Although both are convinced that they are happy in their respective relationships, they also feel that their marriages just resemble a life of domestic rituals and thus, they yearn for something deeper and more meaningful, which is exactly what they find in each other.
The relationship between Dev and Maya begins as a friendship but soon escalates and they find themselves acknowledging their feelings, which lie precariously hidden just beneath the surface. As these feelings come out into the open where everyone, including their mates can see, the rollercoaster begins its swift ride in a downward spiral. Lives and emotions collide, changing everyone's lives forever.
Amitabh Bachchan plays Rishi's father, Samarjit Singh Talwar and Kirron Kher plays Dev's mother, Kamaljit Saran. Both have amazing personality roles to portray as parents who want the best for their children and aren't afraid to voice their opinions when things need to be said.
Don't miss the final outcome. KANK releases on the August 10th with a big premier in Mumbai, but a trailer of it can be seen along with the release of Yash Chopra's 'Fanaa'.
