When tragedy strikes and then becomes fuelled by revenge, both families will come face to face, sparking an inferno, which is all consuming and destroys everything that comes in its path. Viren Sahai (Amitabh Bachchan) is a suave, sophisticated and ruthless gangster. Without money, power and success, he feels life is worthless. Later he realizes that life is nothing if you don't have a family. Sharda (Shernaz Patel) is sweet, simple and an unlikely wife for Viren. She has known all along that one day her family would have to pay for her husband's sins and now the prophecy has come true. What extent will she go to in order to protect her family? Adamant in her convictions of what is right and wrong, she vows never to forgive the guilty, even if the guilty party is Viren. Abhir (Sushant Singh) is Viren and Sharda's son. He is a spoiled brat, egoistical and heartless and will indulge himself in most heinous crimes, confident that his father will always be there to protect him from any consequences or run-ins with law officials. When it comes to protecting his family, unfortunately this isn't one of his main priorities. Shekhar (Akshay Kumar) is a simple, hard working and sentimental man, whose life is full of happiness. Although he doesn't have much in life, he makes sure that his responsibility to pays off all his family's debts is taken seriously. He has so much confidence in his love for his family that he'll safeguard them to the end. He is constantly covering up for his brother Aryan's mistakes. Dr. Kavita (Bhumika Chawla), Shekhar's wife is dedicated and sincere in her profession but at the same time she has wacky sense of humour outside her clinic life. She loves Shekhar and his family and believes that family is not only about "blood ties" but more importantly "love ties". She has to find some hidden reservoirs of strength in herself and fight to save her husband's and her family from breaking down. Aryan (Aryamen) unlike his elder brother he is over-pampered and runs to his elder brother as soon as he finds himself in a quandary. He tells the code word "king" to Shekhar when he gets into trouble, which is quite often. Later in life, he too realizes his responsibility towards family and puts them first. His strength is powered by the love and support of his family, which enables him to take revenge on the valor gangster and protect them. Destiny of both the families will be determined by the individual relationships between all the family members with each other. In the space of time, every minute will count when the battle between the two families begins. The minutes will turn into hours... the body count will rise, blood ties will weaken and faith will be shaken.
