Kisna is a warrior, a poet, a lover. Kisna is INDIA. The epoch year 1947
sets the stage for a remarkable tale of an Indian warrior poet named
Kisna
(Vivek Oberoi) and the British girl he befriends and subsequently
protects, Katherine Beckett (Antonia Bernath).
With a delightful combination of both fact and fiction, Subhash Ghai
weaves a story, which takes place during the time when India is fighting
for her independence from Britain. Going against those in his own family
who have joined forces with other enraged nationalists, Kisna personally
accompanies Katherine to the British High Commission in New Delhi, where
she will be able to get a safe passage back home.
|
But what happens during their journey places them in a dangerous
situation, as Kisna is already engaged to be married to Laxmi (Isha
Shravani). The tender and adventurous story, which develops amidst the
hatred of the two nations, depicts the love that can be shared in spite
of
marked diversities.
The values of loyalty, sacrifice and respect for relationships, which
are
essential to all humans no matter what country one comes from, shine
through as cultural differences are set aside for something more
important.as nothing survives forever.except love.
