In the process, he is nearly lost to his lucrative job. Before this happens, he decides to take a much needed break, leave the States and return to both his homeland and childhood sweetheart Geeta (Gayatri Joshi), who is now a school teacher. He also takes the opportunity to embark on a journey of enlightenment, embracing his cultural background through song and dance. Swades is a sensible thought-provoking film with a powerful patriotic theme. It's the saga of an Indian man who leaves his country to find a better life abroad, only to return home and rediscovers his roots. The big question is...now that he has been "reborn", will Mohan stay on in his beloved India or return to the US? We'll need to watch it to find out.
