Ad-film maker Navdeep Singh makes his directorial feature film debut with 'Manorama- Six Feet Under'.

SV (Abhay Deol) is a government employee, but writes detective fiction novels on the side. His maiden attempt at writing, a novel called Manorama, has sunk without a trace so he has now been relegated to writing for small time publications.

One fine day, the wife (Sarika) of a powerful politician (Kulbhushan Kharbanda), offers SV the task of spying on her husband. Tempted by the opportunity of playing a real life detective he accepts the offer. But things are not what they seem to be and people are not what he thought they were either. People are being killed and the complications are rising.

Interesting plot and interesting settings, but a huge let down by amateur direction and writing. True, a thriller film needs to have complications galore, but this film is so complicated that its tough for even the audience to decipher the goings on!
Abhay Deol gives a fine consistent performance. Gul Panag, Raima Sen and Vinay Pathak form rest of the cast and perform ably.

Music by Jayesh Gandhi, "Wohh Bheege Pal" and "Tere Sawaalon ke har Jawaab", in particular are extremely good. Cinematography by Arvind Kannabiran is good. Editing is shoddy and the primary culprit in creating the confusion.

Director Navdeep Singh definitely needs to have a better understanding of screenplays before he embarks on his next venture.
