The combination of David Dhawan and Govinda has always spelled fun and entertainment for audiences. The same has been the case with the David Dhawan and Salman Khan combination as well. So when all three come together in one film, one expects the world. With 'Partner', that is what one gets... well almost! Inspired from director Andy Tennant's film, 'Hitch', 'Partner' is about Prem, the Love Guru (Salman Khan), who helps people in wooing the love of their lives and Bhaskar (Govinda), who seeks Prem's help in wooing, Priya (Katrina Kaif). This job proves a tad too difficult for Love Guru, as Priya is not only the heir to a 1000 crore company, but bumbling Bhaskar is her employee besides! Meanwhile, Prem also has a tough time wooing the girl he loves, Naina (Lara Dutta), a journalist and single mother. That's about all there is to talk about, as far as the plot is concerned, but of course there are ample doses of confusions and witty one-liners (Sanjay Chhel). In today's stressful times, the audience looks forward to watching a mindless entertainer. 'Partner' matches up in both aspects. It is an entertainer and it is definitely "mindless" !

The thing to watch for is Govinda's performance. He truly is in full form and keeps us in splits. Salman Khan performs like he is expected to... like a star! Don't miss his ever-changing hairstyles. He sports one hairdo before opening a door and another one after he comes out the other side of the door! Katrina Kaif looks absolutely divine and has little more to do other than looking so. Lara Dutta does a fair job. Rajpal Yadav as Chhota Don is just that... a bad replica of the original Don! Besides that, he's not even funny. Sohail Khan also puts in a cameo, albeit only in a photograph! Puneet Issar comes out of nowhere and disappears in a similar manner! Looks like his track was chopped off as an afterthought, to control the length of the film. Suresh Menon, Dalip Tahil, Ali Asgar and Deepshikha form rest of the supporting cast. Razzak Khan puts in an appearance for just one shot! The music by Sajid Wajid is catchy and comes in at highly appropriate places, i.e. when the tempo of the film falls and you need a break! Don't look for logic and you won't be disappointed. **1/2 (Two and half stars)
