'Krrish', the sequel to 'Koi... Mil Gaya' is a brilliantly made film but somehow it cannot touch its predecessor in terms of comedy and emotions. This is not an attempt at running down the film, for viewed in isolation, without comparing it to 'Koi... Mil Gaya', 'Krrish' is an entertainer. The action sequences are mind blowing, especially in the last half hour of the film.
The first half of the film is sure to appeal to kids as Krishna indulges in all sorts of stunts in a very raw fashion. There's a lot of comedy in this part. The second half is serious and does get a little boring at times. But the slick chase and action sequence in the climax makes up for it.
The actions scenes have been choreographed to look like poetry on screen. The reason why it doesn't look like 'seen it before in Hollywood films' is because these scenes have been directed by a Chinese action director. And if one knows enough about action in films then you just can't beat the Chinese in this department. Hollywood comes only a second to them. One has to see a few Chinese films to believe this. The Special Effects in 'Krrish' add to the fun element in the film.

Now for the story. Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is Rohit Mehra's (Hrithik Roshan of 'Koi... Mil Gaya') son. Krishna has inherited his father's magical powers. His parents are dead and he's brought up by his grandmother played by Rekha. When she realizes that he too has special powers like his father, she takes him away to the mountains. There he grows up like a free spirit.
One day Priya (Priyanka Chopra) comes with a group of guys and girls on an adventure camp. He is smitten by her and heads to Singapore when she asks him to. Of course, for her he's someone she can use as the USP of the TV channel that she's working for.
Little does Krrish realize that he's going to stumble upon a strange truth in Singapore. He comes across Dr. Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah), a cruel scientist, who is responsible for his father's death.

How Krrish overpowers him and meets his father who was declared dead twenty years back but has actually been held captive by Dr. Arya forms the climax of the film.
Now for the performances. Need we say that the film belongs to Hrithik Roshan! Hrithik with his build and personality fits the part of the superhero. His earnestness and sincerity comes across on screen which makes his character even more appealing. Priyanka is alright. Rekha is good. So is Naseeruddin Shah as the villain. The rest of the cast is okay.
The music is a big disappointment except for 'Dil Na Diya' which has recall value because of the choreography. The romance between Priyanka and Hrithik is half-baked. Brilliant cinematography.
Overall a brilliant film that will surely set the cash registers jingling.
