'Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye' starts by being old fashioned, and suddenly it becomes bold in the climax. Wow! Bollywood truly has come of age! 'Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye' has all the clichéd situations that lead to a girl and guy getting attracted to each other. It has even borrowed inspiration from 'Kal Ho Na Ho'.

We are referring to a couple of scenes hinting at our macho hero, Akshay Kumar, having gay tendencies (misunderstood, of course!). On the up side, it has an extremely good looking couple (Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif but not exploited fully), great locales and some melodious music. Let's quickly add that there's an overdose of songs.

Let's get on with the story first. Aditya Malhotra (Akshay Kumar) is an automobile engineer and gets engaged to Sonia (Bipasha Basu), a rocking fashion designer. We are surprised how they decided to get engaged to each other considering they are as different as chalk and cheese.

While Aditya is a complete family man and is the sort who'd love to get married and start a family soon, Sonia is very ambitious. For her, it's career first. Kids can wait for the next five years.

This seems out of place as no young, career woman today with a rocking professional life would want to be tied down by marriage, leave alone kids. At least not an arranged marriage!

There's no chemistry or even a hint of an attraction between them. So there, the film starts on shaky ground.

Aditya has to leave for Canada for work while Sonia has to leave for Paris for her fashion show. Aditya arrives in Canada and bumps into Gia (Katrina Kaif) a few times. Something is pushing them together.

Gia, daughter of business tycoon Yashwardhan, has come to Canada to shop for her wedding. Her marriage has been fixed with business tycoon Karan Oberoi (Anil Kapoor). Anil looks anything but a business tycoon! His looks and behaviour make him look more like a local goon.

In true filmi style, Karan is too tied up with work and neglects Gia. Ditto for Aditya who is neglected by his fiancé.

Gradually Aditya and Gia become friends. They spend a lot of time with each other and are aware of their attraction for each other. Why is Gia fighting it when he's all that she ever wanted in a man? At least not in the present era!

However, a misunderstanding with Aditya forces Gia to return to India and get married to Karan. Aditya too comes to India to get married to Sonia. As fate would have it, Aditya and Gia meet again. The occasion is her wedding and Sonia has designed her wedding costume.

Aren't you bored by now? So go ahead and watch the film now to see what happens. That's if you really want to know!

Maybe it would have helped if the film had been at least 45 minutes shorter!

The songs are okay but well picturized. Excellent cinematography, though.

Performances- Akshay Kumar is good. Katrina Kaif is perfect eye candy. She looks gorgeous and seems to have improved as an actor. She makes Bipasha look lack luster both in the looks and acting department! Anil Kapoor is irritating. Bhagyashree also irritates, especially when she keeps saying, 'very funny'! Helen and Upasna Singh are wasted.

On the whole, it's a film that will test the viewers' patience! Don't have any expectations from this one!
