'Rok Sako To Rok Lo' is a rip-off of the Aamir Khan starrer, 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander". The only difference is that Yash doesn't possess Aamir's charisma. The film is a war of classes; the rich and poor. Dev (Yash), Suhana (Manjari), Ganguly, Bhajji, Venky and Rati are in their final year at the Bharti School. Doesn’t it sound modest? The five are great friends and live a carefree life without a worry about their future. Then there is the rich boy, Ranveer (Carran Kapur) from the elitist Valley High School. He has all the luxuries most youngsters his age crave for. So that obviously makes him a spoilt brat. He also manages to intimidate poor Dev and his friends with his money power.
Suddenly, from nowhere comes their messiah, Kabir (Sunny Deol), who is referred to as Phantom. No wonder he is introduced as the 'Inspirational Appearance.' But if students start having school dropouts strutting around on Harley Davidson bikes as role models, we can't help but feel sorry for them. We also dread to think of the erosion of their value system. Surprising that this film is the work of a professor!

Kabir is a loner and the innocence of the youngsters draws him towards them. Kabir succeeds in provoking Dev and his friends to face the challenges that come their way. This reinforces Dev's faith in his friends. He also finds his first love. The film almost comes to a grinding halt with Sunny's exit. The film boasts of a decent climax but one can't say the same for the film. The comedy seems forced in some places.
Now for the performances. Manjari is excellent. Yash is okay but looks nervous in some scenes. The songs are not great except for the title track. Carran Kapur, despite a small role is quite impressive. His sidekick too is good. Sunny Deol is cast in a mature role and is likeable while Namrata Shirodkar gets no scope. Cinematography is good. The film has all the masala that makes for a commercial film; the good guys, the bad guys, songs, rivalry, melodrama, and family. But unfortunately its prospects at the box office do not seem very bright, despite a Sunny Deol!
Overall Rating: **
