He has been around for a real long time now. He has had his highest highs and lowest lows. One thing that kept Sanjay Dutt going, and wanting to survive is his love of acting. In spite of having numerous personal problems and trials and tribulations, Sanjay Dutt fought back everything from his drug habit, to his image as a terrorist and threw himself fully into the world of cinema. Acting was in his blood with both dad-Sunil Dutt and mom Nargis being the stalwarts of cinema.
Sanjay Dutt rocked his way into Bollywood with Rocky and instantly became a star. However the loss of his mother resulted in him wanting to leave the industry and pursue something else. However what made him strike back with full force was the critical acclaim that Mahesh Bhatt's ‘Naam’ bestowed upon him. His ability to emote even difficult feelings with ease notched him several good reviews for his role. The audience took to him, and Sanjay never looked backed. He continued giving good performances in hits like 'Saajan', 'Sadak', and ‘Khalnayak’.
