He is the star son who has made it on his own. Akshaye Khanna has taken risks in his career which have paid off in a big way. He has tried to do a variety of roles and keep his fans always guessing as to what next can they expect from him.
After making a disastrous debut with Himalayputra in 1997, Akshaye had to wait for J.P. Dutta's Border to get noticed. In his role which earned him awards and critical acclaim, Akshaye Khanna lit up the screen with his charming presence and suave personality. He had the looks, the right amount of charisma and the decent acting skills required to make it in the movies. He worked hard on every new movie that he took.
Compared to his peers, Akshaye Khanna hasn't yet got much commercial success on his slate. He has been choosy about the projects that he is doing, and refuses to take more than he can manage. He worked with Subhas Ghai in Taal which has the biggest banner he had worked under. He has also worked under R.K. films for Rishi Kapoor's Aa Ab Laut Chalen.
