'Lagaan' helped Gracy in bagging awards (for Best Debutante) and also a stream of commercial work - she did Honey Irani's 'Armaan' opposite Anil Kapoor, which bombed. Her next release, 'Gangaajal' opposite Ajay Devgan was a semi-hit and bagged rave reviews even though Gracy's role was nothing to talk about. Her most significant release after 'Gangaajal' was the hit, 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.', in which she essayed a doctor, and was cast opposite Sanjay Dutt. Once again, her character in the film was not a principal one, but she played it with sufficient confidence and ease.
Gracy's next release is N.R. Pachisia's 'Muskaan' (opposite Aftab) in which she is playing a "typical commercial heroine". Then there is also Ajay Phansekar's 'Yehi Hai Zindagi' where her character is that of a classical Indian dancer. |
