Being unconventional, Anil feels, has contributed to his longevity as an actor. Yet he says that he never has aspired to be a star or dreamt about stardom. Rather he says, "I dream of characters." Whether it's his unconventionalness or something else, it's working. He has enough projects in the works to keep him going for some time. Yet, he says the one role he'd love to do is Jack Nicholson's in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
If you ask him about his family, he'll tell you, "his one turn on is his wife Sunita, he's terrified of his kids Sonam, Rhea, and Harshwardhana, because they criticize him, and when he gets to be reincarnated, he wants to come back as his brother Boney.
His recent release of Calcutta Mail this month will further show is acting abilities, opposite Rani Mukherjee and Manisha Koirala. The year 2004 should prove to be a good year for Anil. Let's hope it is a prosperous one for him as well. |
