Arjun Rampal |
How is life after 'Rock On!!'? Rocking!! I am happy that the film has been accepted and has struck the right chords with the audiences.
Have you been offered any package deals by any corporations? Striking a deal is not important for me. I am listening to scripts and will only do films that appeal to me.
After the cult movie 'Rock On!!' what can we expect from the artistic movie 'The Last Lear'? 'The Last Lear' is absolutely different from 'Rock On!!' It has more to do with passion than commerce.
Which Rampal should we expect to see more of on the screen, the one from 'Rock On!!' or the one from 'The Last Lear'? Right now, I intend to do films, which have good scripts. I want to do roles with which my fans can identify me.
Many say that you have great potential as an action hero. Any comments? I agree and I really love doing action films. That is the reason I am planning an action film for my next home production. I can assure you that it is going to be one of the biggest action films ever made on these shores.
How was it working with Rituparno Ghosh? I have watched his films and liked them. I agreed to work with him immediately when he narrated the subject of 'The Last Lear'.
Any preparation for the character you play in TLL? Rituda has a different style of filmmaking. He wants his artists to get under the skin of the character. Since I play a filmmaker from Kolkata, I went there for few days to make myself more familiar with its traditions and people by traveling in trams and other public transports, this of course after disguising myself.
This is your third film with Amitabh Bachchan, what is your experience with him? After 'Aankhen' and 'Ek Ajnabee', this is our third film. We get along very well and our chemistry is clear on screen.
How about with Preity Zinta? When we did 'Dil Hai Tumhara', we did not know each other and that is why did not get along. After doing a concert, we broke the ice and found new friends in each other. She is brilliant in the film.
What are your forthcoming films? I am doing Prakash Jha's 'Rajneeti', where I play a politician. Then I have 'Don 2' scheduled to take off early next year. I have just concluded my portion for EMI and shoot for a thriller from FOX is currently on. |
