Vinod Khanna |
Veteran actor Vinod Khanna starts his second innings with a film titled 'Risk' co-starring Randeep Hooda and Tanushree Dutta. Excerpts from a quick tête-à-tête with Khanna on the sets of 'Risk':
What is 'Risk' all about?
'Risk' is a thriller with a family backdrop. I have a very challenging role in the film.
You've come back, but there isn't much for your age group in today's cinema, is there?
I agree. But I am ready to take up any meaty role. I wouldn't mind doing a negative portrayal. In fact, I play an underworld don in 'Risk' (smiles). There's no gangster's moll involved in this film and my character is somehow very different and unique. I am sure you mustn't have seen a gangster like Khalid before on screen. You won't see me wearing suits and headgears (laughs).
Tell us more about your character.
I play Khalid who is a don but at the same time, a compassionate man, who looks after his people, does charity and never imposes himself on people especially the hard-pressed and underprivileged lot. He speaks in the Mumbaiya Urdu dialect.
Reminds one of 'Dayavan'?
No. 'Dayavan' was totally different.
