SHAAD RANDHAWA |
Meet SHAAD RANDHAWA- Malika and Randhawa's son. While Malika is yesteryears' actress Mumtaz's sister, wrestler Randhawa is the younger brother of none other than Dara Singh. Shaad co-stars with Kangna in the recently released 'Woh Lamhe'. Excerpts from a chat with Vickey Lalwani:
Do you play Kabir Bedi or Danny Denzongpa?
Neither Kabir nor Danny. My character Nikhil has nothing to do with Parveen's known film lovers.
Then who was that man in Parveen Babi's life whom you are depicting?
Well, Parveen had a traumatic past with someone whose identity Bhatt Saab (Mahesh Bhatt) cannot reveal. All I will say is that he was an Indian.
Bhatt Saab told us that he brutalized her and treated her the way you see her being treated in the film.
Civilized, good-looking men who are sexually involved with women become beasts when their so-called ego is threatened. Shiney and Shaad get down to blows.
Did Mahesh have a fight with that man?
Well, he (Mahesh) told us that he did not have a fight. But he did get into verbal, abusive long-distance calls with him. He put the fear of God in him. Parveen was very scared of him.
Shiney hit you in one scene so hard, that your wrist got fractured?
Yes, my wrist did get fractured and I had to stop shooting for few days. Several people have told me that Shiney hit me deliberately. I would like to believe that it was an accident. Shiney is professional and talented, however, I won't say that we are the best of friends.
What's next after 'Woh Lamhe'?
Well, I am listening to some scripts, but I think that I'll work with the Bhatts again. It's great to work for Maheshji and Mukeshji. They are simply geniuses. |
