John Abraham with Priyadarshan |
The inclusion of John Abraham is a bit of surprise. Does Abraham have a good comic timing?
John was very uncomfortable in the first week and even wanted to drop out as he thought he was a misfit. But if one has the time to learn, I have the inclination to teach. It also depends on how you explain it to your actors. I used to perform the scene and show it to him.
Your next is 'Maalamaal Weekly'?
It's similar to 'Malgudi Days' in the sense that the story revolves around a poor village trying to cash in on a winning lottery ticket belonging to a man who died of shock when he got to know that he had won. This film will be shot in Kariakudi village, about four hours away from Madurai.
Are you likely to do a Venus film starring Shah Rukh Khan?
I'm currently in talks with Venus regarding this film, but it will most likely happen. While Shah Rukh wants to do a comedy, I want to do something serious in this film. Let's see. It should be interesting.
Anything else, Sir?
I will also make a film on the weavers, but I want the rains for that movie. I co-produced a small film with Jhamu Sughand. It's called 'Freaking' and has Sushant Singh and Sruthi, and is directed by my assistant Rajeev Kumar. It's an experimental film about the exploitation of doctors in a hospital it has a very hilarious approach. It's a black comedy. The film was made in 20 days. |
