Boney Kapoor with his wife Sridevi |
Boney Kapoor must be a happy man. His 'No Entry', which was originally supposed to be released on the 22nd of July, was pushed up by a month to the 26th of August. The reason? It would be coming too soon after 'Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya' [in fact the very next week], which also stars Salman Khan. And to top it off, both movies belong to the same genre - comedy!
When the decision to push the movie was taken, the entire industry unanimously appreciated the decision. In an industry that is known for being egotistical, there was one film unit that collectively stood by the intelligent decision of delaying the movie, rather than coming up with unnecessary competition. After all, this could have caused harm to both 'MPKK' and 'No Entry' with the business having to be divided.
So far, so good! What really has made the people involved with 'No Entry' elated is how the delay helped avoid the onslaught of a negative publicity campaign initiated by Salman Khan's detractors and that too just a day before MPKK was to be released. Had the movie stuck to its original July 22nd release date, it would have faced rough weather in getting ready for it. |
