And I thought that gossips were restricted to aunts in my friendly neighborhood! Never before has such a noise revolved around the outcome of a biggie in recent times, as has been done for Dharma Productions' 'Kaal'. Did I say Dharma Productions? Exactly! And that's 'exactly' the reason why this kind of noise. If only 'Kaal' would have been a movie by a lesser name, it would have been termed as an ideal popcorn weekend flick. But alas, that wasn't the case to be. Why? Because a man called Karan Johar took a conscious decision to do something different from his earlier work (KKHH, K3G, KHNH) that has collectively done business of more than 100 crores. Heeding to his fans' encouragement who wanted him to break the formula to do something "different" (Oh how much the industry loves this word), he took a bold step to invest 12-13 crores in a movie that broke all the rules. |
