Juhi Chawla on the sets of 'Dosti' |
Once an actor, always an actor?
Chawla laughs again. "You can say that again. I thought I should continue doing what I am best at. I was away from the arc lights for nearly 20 months. At first, I thought I might not be able to roll. But I am sailing very smoothly," she offered. "I have been offered roles which require me to play mother to 16 and 17-year-olds. This is absurd. I wish that film-makers don't come to me with half-baked ideas," she laments. But before she goes into a shell, she again bursts into laughter, reminiscing, "I have also been offered roles which require me to run around trees."
How does she manage home and career both?
"Oh come on. Before you title me as Superwoman, let me tell you that it's not a big deal. Those who want to do it can do it."
And how do the kids react to their mother being a public figure? Pat comes the reply, "Well, so far, they are unaware that I am a public figure. My son Arjun is just one and half years old. My daughter Jhanvi has started reacting a bit. But frankly I don't encourage her to watch much television. Recently however she identified me on some hoarding. I would have no problems if my kids want to make acting as their profession. I will support them all the way," she concludes as Suneel calls for another shot.
Soon, Chawla will also be seen in the Punjabi film ‘Des Ho Ya Pardes’. As Chawla rushes back for another shot, she once again breaks into laughter, exuding immense love and warmth. With a loving hubby, two cute kids, pearly teeth and new work assignments, who wouldn't be giggling? |
