Tulip Joshi in 'Matrubhoomi' |
There have always been and probably always will be movies but there are some that get stuck for ages and then unfortunately never get a chance to see the light of day. Then if they do, they either seem to be so stale that they are hardly watched, or not publicized and released in such a fashion so as to excite viewers into watching them. The fate of big or medium budget movies may still not effect the star cast associated with the product, as they have other ventures to bank on, but it is the smaller ones that are doomed if they get stuck for too long.
Some of these that have been struggling to see the light of the day for around a year now are movies like 'Mumbai Godfather', 'Hum Do Hamaara Ek', 'Matrubhoomi', 'Chess... A Game Plan', 'Maa! Where are you?' and 'Film Star'. If one looks closely, most of these star Mahima Chaudhary. 'Hum Do Hamara Ek' is a family comic caper directed by Anees Bazmee and stars other A-list actors like Govinda and Raveena Tandon. 'Chess... A Game Plan' is more of a crossover product that was in the news during its making but lost steam completely when it was ready for release. Co-starring Anupam Kher and Sonu Sood, this unconventional plot driven movie directed by Manoj Bhatnagar has surprisingly failed to invoke any interest in the Hindi film circles |
