You had the best of debuts and then you did a film like Matrubhoomi. Does that mean that you are not open to commercial films?
I am not in rush and I want to balance everything. After Yash-Raj, Matrubhoomi was the best film to be offered to me. There is nothing fixed that I will do this or that. I came to films for chance and got an offer from Yash Chopra and thought that if I don’t do this, I will regret it for life. I think to a certain extent it spoiled me as they are so good and you keep comparing and then you always want to work with nice people. For me working with nice people is the most important thing irrespective of the result of the film. I have good memories of all the three films that I have done and I want memories from every film I do. I don’t want any pressure and do my best and so I waited. People always say now you will get offers but I say I have offers. There is so much of work here that everyone has offers. I want to do so many things in life. At the end of the day I am happy with what I
am doing.
What’s happening about Matrubhoomi?
In Europe it is releasing on 25th January. In India it will take some time. I really don’t know. I am really waiting for the film to release.
