He impressed everybody with his role in Ishq Vishk and then gave a great performance in Fida and now he is back as a young lover boy in a fun filled comedy ‘Dil Maange More’. His lover boy status has been solidified recently in the media with the famous Kareena mid-day lip pictorial and some might say it came at a great time for him as his third movie in which he plays a lover-boy is just about to be released. Let’s just say that greater publicity stunts have been pulled in Hollywood just before big releases. We met up with Shahid to have a chat about his character and his career, read on to see what he has to say.
What made you sign Dil Mange More in the first place?
I am pretty instinctive when it comes to signing films. I have no written rules and it’s not necessary to have a big director or have a huge production house. Obviously, these are important matters but at the end of the day, I should feel excited when I hear a script. I should want to be a part of the script and be a part of the project. So when I heard this script I thought that it was very novel project as it had 3 heroines and that was the first thing that set it apart from the other scripts that I was hearing that time. Then I wanted to do a comedy after Ishk Vishk and Fida, although Ishk Vishk had comedy, Dil Mange more has much more comedy. It is a funny film. Ishq Vishk was more a love story than comedy this is more of comedy than love story, I would say. It is a comedy of errors. Lots of people say that it’s a great situation to have 3 girls and one guy but for the character Nikhil it is the worst possible situation. Because he gets stuck and he tends to be at all the wrong places at all the wrong times. It has clean entertainment and is a young and youthful film for the entire family. |
