Her overnight success with the music video of 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman', took Meghna Naidu all over the world for stage shows with veterans Asha Bhonsle, Adnan Sami, Akshay Kumar et al. And with her debut film 'Hawas', she made headlines as the bold and bindaas babe in Bollywood. Just back from one of her numerous shows; we conducted a rap session with Meghna Naidu.
You have been elusive, where have you been hiding?
In jeans-n-sleeveless top, long hair loose, Meghna retorted, "Traveling all over the world for stage shows. After the success of my video album 'Kaliyon Ka Chaman' I have been inundated with offers to perform on stage. I have gone with Adnan Sami & Asha Bhonsleji for their shows, have gone for shows with Akshay Kumar and other stars."
Sounds exhausting.
"No, it's been great. I have also done two shows in a day. Like I had a show in the afternoon in Delhi; the show got over, I rushed to Moradabad to perform at night, then rushed back to Delhi and catch the flight for Mumbai. I am very excited and charged up, this is the time for me to work and since money is coming in, that's even better."
Smart girl. From provocative to bold, 'Hawas' made you the most talked about girl.
She smiles. "I know. A lot of controversy was generated. Karan Razdan, (the director of Hawas) had narrated the script in totality, so I knew how many kisses I had, or the scenes of intimacy. Nothing was thrust on me unexpectedly. I had seen 'The Unfaithful' sometime back. I have no regrets about doing the film. Instead I have received so many offers for item numbers and films. I am taking my time in choosing."
