Sudhakar Bokade, the man who has a list of successes under his belt! His proprietary firm 'Divya Films International' instituted way back in the eighties has been instrumental in creating and developing Hindi and regional movies with social causes.
Born and brought up in a middle class family, Sudhakar was the first person to graduate in his family. He also had a brief stint as a Store officer in Air India. A crazy movie lover from his childhood, he was always amongst the first to be there at the first day first show!
Behold! Here he comes after a hiatus, with not one but three films at a time!
He is busy with the post production of his two unreleased films 'Kanyadan' and 'Sambandh'. Plus, he has launched 'Money Mooney Money' starring Jackie Shroff, Vikaas Kalantri, Aslam Khan, Sita Thomson and Shreshtha Bhola. Six songs under the baton of singer turned music composer Bali Brahmbhatt and Rais Bhartiya have already been recorded for 'MMM'.
Taking time off from his busy schedule, he had a brief chat with Vickey Lalwani:
You hogged the limelight in the 90s. What made you disappear?
90s was a good period for me. I got bogged down by family problems and financial hurdles, which I would not like to elaborate on. With God's help and my wife and children's support, I have resurfaced.
So you are coming back with 'Money Mooney Money'. What is this film all about?
It's a film about money (laughs). It's a film about college students who are willing to do anything for money.
How did this idea germinate?
I am an avid film watcher. I saw some films and conceptualized the idea in an Indian format.
What is the extra 'o' doing in the title?
It has been introduced, courtesy numerology.
Lawrence D'Souza is the cinematographer-director of the film. He's there in most of your films? Why?
Simple. Because he is my favorite. He has given me quite a few hits and our association goes down till the days of 'Saajan' (Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, and Salman Khan).
When will 'MMM' mount on the sets?
Somewhere around February end. I plan to complete it in one schedule.
Any chances of you getting into direction?
Let's see. I won't rule that out. Right now, I want to produce 2-3 films. I'll take a call on direction, later. |
