She has won rave reviews and a Filmfare award for the best actress for her Telugu flick 'Nuvve Kavli', but life has been difficult for Richa Pallod in Bollywood. Her first splash opposite Fardeen Khan in 'Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein' bit the dust. Today, she is up on trial once again, with 'Wrong Number' wherein she plays the lead opposite Rakesh Bapat.
Vickey Lalwani caught up with this struggling teenager for a quick chatathon just before her second release. Excerpts of what transpired:
Your first film 'Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein' did not fare well...
(Interrupts) You can say that again. I was quite diissapointed by the fate of my first film. I personally feel that the film was good but the publicity efforts taken were way below the mark.
Are you worried that your second one 'Wrong Number' does not have happening stars and comes from a small banner?
Sort of. I hope it does well. It's a very edge-of-the-seat thriller, a genre which today's public is accepting these days.
What is 'Wrong Number' all about?
It's a story of four friends who keep making random and cranky phone calls to people. We all have a good laugh at the reaction of the victimized call receiver. Till one day, we meet a guy who turns the tables on us, earning our respect and slowly. Just then, an unknown assailant murders Mahi's father for unknown reasons. All hell breaks loose as the killer goes on a rampage, trying to cover his tracks.
