Sanjay Suri is a typical Delhi boy from a non-film family who's slowly but steadily making it big on the strength of his hard work, talent and good looks! A quick parlez-vous with the 30-year old hunk!
From 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' to 'Pinjar', it's been one long journey, and surely, a journey of growth!
(Laughs)Oh yes! Can you imagine? 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' was a typical youngster movie in which all of us, including Rinke Khanna, were new. We were raw and lacking in confidence. And now my last release was 'Pinjar', another film with 'P', but in which I'm opposite seasoned actors (like Urmila) and feel so much more seasoned, mature and confident of myself. It's been a long journey, and I'd say an eventful and progressive one too!
'Jhankaar Beats' was the turning point in your career!
(Smiles)It was! 'JB' changed my life. I played the compromising lover boy in 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi'. After that I did well-known films like 'Daman' and 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar', but people still didn't take me seriously. With 'Filhaal' (in which I was opposite Tabu) people stood up and took note of me as an actor, even though the film failed. But with 'Jhankaar Beats' (opposite Juhi Chawla), I got my first commercial hit. People have been coming to me with well-written roles now.
