Abhishek Bachchan - 'I owe everything to my parents'

How does it feel to be working with your father in 'Ranveer'?
'Ranveer' is our first production in which Dad and I will act together. It's a privilege for any actor to even be with him in the same frame so you can imagine how excited and nervous I am to be sharing the same scene with him. He's a living legend!

What about having Raj Kumar Santoshi as the director?
Raj ji is a fantastic filmmaker. His 'Legend of Bhagat Singh', 'Damini', 'Ghayal' etc. etc. have been treats. I'm really looking forward to the prospect of working together with him. Plus with my father around, I am sure to learn a lot from both of them.

A numerologist said that you should drop your surname!
(Laughs) I know, I read that somewhere! I find that amusing! Today what I am and whatever I have got is because of my surname so it does sound ridiculous to drop it! I am what I am because of my parents. They mean everything to me.

You've worked with so many first-time directors who are also your personal friends. Was that a wise move from a career point of view?
I have not worked with so many other director and producer friends. I did the films you're talking about with these people because I also genuinely liked the scripts and ideas. Now had these movies done well you wouldn't be asking me this question! But I have to admit that I've enjoyed these projects because these makers have known me on a personal level so I could share a great comfort level with them.

Does it dishearten you that your movies have not succeeded at the box-office?
Of course, who doesn't like a hit? But I know I've worked hard on all my releases and that's what's important. Let's see the future, I have some interesting projects coming up.

Are you doing a project for Ram Gopal Varma as well?
Yes, it's been on the cards for a while and has happened now. It's called 'Naach' with Antara Mali.

Any plans of seeing the three of you together?
Dad and I are already together in 'Ranveer'. As for the three of us together, we're open to the idea but we have to find the right script first. Then we'll take a call.
