Farida Hoosenally has challenged a Bombay High Court order staying the proceedings of a lower court that was hearing a criminal case against Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Farida, an antiques dealer has filed a petition in the Supreme Court accusing film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali of making false insurance claims by setting his film sets ablaze after the completion of shooting.
She also sought a continuation of the criminal proceedings against the filmmaker even as his plea challenging it is pending before the HC. Farida alleged that Bhansali got compensation from insurance companies by setting ablaze the sets of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas and Black after completion of shoots in connivance with employees of insurance firms.
