Richard Gere's act of kissing and hugging Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty on stage during an AIDS awareness function, held on Sunday in New Delhi, has sparked a new controversy and has invited protests against this obscene act. Some people even burnt effigies of the Hollywood star.
The function, 'Seena Taan Ke' was organized on Sunday evening at the Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, in order to raise AIDS awareness among the trucker community. The function also had Sunny Deol as a guest.
Reacting to this fresh controversy, Shilpa Shetty's spokesperson said, "The media should concentrate on the promotion of the cause of AIDS awareness, rather than make "issues" out of Richard Gere's kisses." |
