Aftab makes Celina's lips go 'Red' with blood

Celina Jaitly will be extra careful with the man who kisses her on screen next. Her red hot lip-lock with Aftab Shivdasani in Vikram Bhatt's Red gave her a cut on her lips! Jaitly's lips started to bleed. The shot was declared unsatisfactory. The shooting had to be stopped. Celina was in terrible discomfort and she required medical assistance. The kiss was re-shot on the following day.

The kissing shot, which was filmed at Tata bunglow in Andheri East, was scheduled for a late-night shoot.

While Celina and Aftab remained unavailable for comment, producer Sunil Chainani confirms that Celina's lips did pose a problem while shooting the kissing scene. "We had to stop the shooting. The scene just got a bit out of hand. It was shot at a late hour and hence I guess it became difficult to handle it emotionally. It is a very passionate scene and not easy to do it."

Did Aftab go ballistic? Or was he nervous that led to sort of a wrong timing from his side? Buzz is, Aftab was not comfortable doing the kissing scene; this was his first full-fledged kiss on screen. Aftab even stopped his girlfriend Yana Gupta from coming to the sets that day. Yana had expressed a desire to visit him on the sets that day. Aftab went weak in his knees. He then informed Yana about the scene and told her it would be better if she did not come that day. Yana understood his plight and let him be. Chainani defends, "Aftab and Celina were both nervous. But no, Aftab didn't go ballistic. They both laugh about it now."

Talking more on the kiss, Chainani says that the Celina-Aftab kiss depicts a conflict between the mind and the body and is a very important aspect of the film. "It’s a scene preceding a song. It’s a tense situation and they are fighting off their feelings for each other. They don't want to kiss and they even want to kiss. At a point, they cannot stop giving vent to their emotions. That is when they lock their lips."

Red starring Aftab, Celina and Amrita Arora releases on March 9. The film is an intense love story um thriller which talks about obsessive love. Aftab plays Neel Oberoi- a guy who has survived a near death experience. He sports a new short crop hair-do styled by Falguni Thakore. While Celina plays Anahita- a lonely and sensuous widow, Amrita plays Ria- a girl with grey shades.
