Suneel Darshan |
Filmmaker Suneel Darshan (of 'Andaz' fame, which starred Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra together) had a horrible time in South Africa, while filming his latest venture 'Shakalaka Boom Boom'. The poor guy did not know if he would be able to go home to India when the shooting is over. Reason? His online producer and shoot coordinator Ebrahim Kaskar took him to court and Darshan's passport was impounded.
Kaskar tells us via an email, "Suneel had to lodge a guarantee of Rs 60 lakh on November 3rd before his passport and airline tickets were returned to him."
When asked about it, Suneel put up a brave front. "I had to hand it over to the attorney as it is a part of the procedure when someone files a case against you." Kaskar filed a case against Suneel for non-payment of dues. Kaskar is claiming Rs 60 lakh for coordinating the film's shooting in Johannesburg from July 9th to August 6th of this year.
Suneel maintains that Kaskar is falsely claiming money from him. "I actually caught Kaskar fleecing me when I checked the hotel and transport bills. I have evidence that the amounts were inflated. The matter is now sub judice and I don't want to say anything more."
'Shakalaka Boom Boom' starring Bobby Deol, Upen Patel and Kangana Ranaut is almost complete. |
