Chhabria is following the script blindly to ensure a faithful portrayal Tarannum's character. However, the actress has done ample research on the bar dancer's life via newspapers and magazines and is fascinated by her character.

Bar dancer Tarannum Khan hit the headlines following an income-tax raid on a bar that revealed large cash and property investment details. Tarannum was arrested after she revealed in a television interview that she indulged in betting. She was also under the police scanner for her alleged proximity to some Sri Lankan cricketers.
